Ouzounian posts news of 2010 Stratford Season

In a Toronto Star Article printed today, Richard Ouzounian states that Marti Maraden (right) will be back next year to direct A Winter's Tale. He speculates that the other Shakespeare plays will likely be The Tempest and As You Like It - both were last performed at Stratford in 2005.

  1. I also read that he is saying FOUR or FIVE musicals next year. If that's the case I will either not go to the stratford next year for the first time in 15 years or will just go for 2 or 3 days as opposed to 7-10 days. I remember when people criticized Richard Monette for doing two musicals and now look!

  2. Ouzounian has printed three possible musicals, Kiss Me Kate, Evita and Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. The Studio Theatre hosted Morris Panych's beautiful musical and movement-based Moby Dick last year; hopefully the "new Canadian work" Ouzounian speaks of will be something along those lines.

  3. It sounds like the other Shakespeare will be The Two Gentlemen of Verona (in the Studio).

Peter Pan is apparently on the bill as well.

  4. The rumour mill certainly is spinning fast lately - the season announcements must be forthcoming! As soon as I see an official bill, I'll post it here.
